Planning Your Operations & Day
Start every day knowing exactly what’s coming.
The whiteboard is yesterday’s. The rota changed overnight and nobody updated it. Someone knew the 10:30 patient is terrified of needles, but the room finds out halfway through the appointment.
Amazon starts its warehouse day with a team meeting to review the plan, hand out roles and set expectations. Your practice deserves the same. Press Huddle and Joyful gives you the brief: who is due in, who is working in which room, what procedures are booked, and which patients need extra care. Ten minutes with the team, and everyone walks into the day on the same page.

How it works
01
Walk into the day prepared
One brief shows who’s due, who’s working where and what’s booked.
The huddle button sits next to Day List in the clinical bar. Press it and today’s brief opens. It shows which rooms are open, which dentist and nurse are paired in each one, how many exams and treatments are booked, and the procedures on the list. It all comes straight from the rota and the book, so nobody retypes anything.
- You see every room, every pairing and every booked procedure on one screen.
- Take a surgery off the rota and it comes off the huddle too.
- There is no spreadsheet to print and nothing to fill in before the team meets.

No surprises in the surgery
Patients who need extra care are flagged before the door opens.
Under each room, the huddle lists the patients who need something different: access needs, sedation, allergies, anxious patients, open complaints. Each one shows the time, who they are seeing and why they are flagged. Anything serious, like a severe allergy, sits at the top of the brief so nobody misses it.
- Severe allergies always appear at the top of the brief.
- Other medical flags and peculiarities sit against the patient’s appointment.
- The emergency button is separate. The huddle is for planning, the alert is for right now.

Ten minutes that bring the team together
The facts are on screen, so there’s time for wins and lessons.
Because the operational details are already on the screen, the team doesn’t spend the huddle reading out the list. You have time for the things that build a good practice: what to expect today, a patient who left delighted yesterday, a lesson learnt from last week. If Joy finished work overnight, like confirmations and simple replies, the huddle shows how many, and you can open each one.
- The facts take a minute, which leaves time to share wins and lessons.
- Joy’s overnight work is a record of what she did. It never moves money.
