Planning Your Operations & Day
Your front desk always knows what’s next.
On a normal morning, confirmations sit in one place and messages in another, someone is waiting at the door and a lab is on the phone. Reception’s real skill has become remembering which of eight tabs holds the next important thing.
In Joyful, reception works from one queue. Confirm tomorrow’s patients, chase a balance, answer a message, book the treatment someone accepted last week. Joyful knows what needs doing, so nobody has to remember it.

How it works
01
Start every morning with the to-do list written
Joyful builds reception’s queue from who owes, who hasn’t confirmed and who needs booking.
Each type of job sits in its own list: confirm attendance, late payments, messages, calls and unbooked treatment. Reception works through them from top to bottom. At 8:45 the to-do list is written for you.
- Patients who haven’t confirmed, owe money or need booking appear on the list automatically.
- The queue has an end, so you can watch the day get shorter.
- A quiet morning never hides a patient who slipped through, because the list remembers for you.

See who’s where without leaving the desk
Ground control shows every patient as arrived, waiting, in the chair or leaving.
Ground control is a live board that shows every patient as arrived, waiting, in the chair or leaving. Check-in holds a patient until their consent and medical history are up to date, so the clinician is never handed a half-ready patient.
- The whole team reads the same board.
- Patients only move to waiting once their paperwork is done.

Fill cancellations without ringing round
Gaps go to the waitlist, and lab cases sit on the same desk.
When someone cancels, the gap goes straight to the waitlist and the first patient to say yes takes it. Reception doesn’t spend the morning ringing round. Lab work sits on the same desk too, so reception can see which case went to which lab, whether it has been sent, and whether the invoice is in.
- Cancellations become waitlist offers without anyone picking up the phone.
- Lab cases live on reception’s desk, and the lab book by the till can go.

The small print
- The list relies on each visit being finished properly. If a patient is never marked as leaving, their next recall isn’t created. If a deposit link expires, that booking is released.
