Clinical and Whilst In The Chair

They read the plan. Then they book it.

Patients get a printout they don’t understand, and then the price changes at the desk. Treatment they’ve accepted sits unbooked, quietly turning into lost income.

In Joyful, every finding becomes a line on the treatment plan. Patients read it in plain English on their phone, with member and standard prices side by side. When they accept, reception gets a task to book it.

The plan

How it works

  1. 01

    Every finding gets followed up

Planning won’t finish until every finding has a decision.

For every finding, the clinician chooses to treat, watch, refer or leave it. Planning isn’t finished until every finding has a decision and every referral has a response. If you change a price after the patient has agreed, their answer resets and they agree again at the new figure.

    • No finding is left without a decision, and referrals are tracked like any other task.
    • Joyful warns you before a price change resets the patient’s answer.
    • Because your fee list, your plan and your treatment plans all live in one system, Joyful can show patients exactly what membership saves them on this treatment. A separate plan tool can’t see your prices, so it can’t do this. The figure is worked out to the penny.

    Patients say yes with confidence

Patients read their plan in plain English on their phone.

You can preview what the patient will see, then share it by text. They read what each treatment involves, the benefits, the risks and the alternatives on their own phone. Sharing doesn’t lock the record, so you can keep working.

    • Patients see the member price next to the standard price on every line.
    • The benefits and risks come from the same library as consent.
    • If there is no content for a treatment, there is no signable form for it.

    Accepted treatment gets booked

Reception gets a booking task the moment a patient accepts.

The clinician puts the work into a sensible order: by comfort, in the fewest visits, one thing per visit, or a custom order, with healing time between. Reception books from the unbooked treatment list or sends the patient a link. Longer courses book one visit at a time, so the book doesn’t fill with guesses.

    • Patients see their treatment as a short list of visits in a sensible order.
    • Accepted work stays on reception’s list until it has a time.
    • Only the next visit is booked, so the diary stays accurate.

The small print

  • Accepting a plan isn’t the same as booking it. Someone still picks a time.
  • Patients act on their plan by booking. They don’t accept or reject it in the app.
