Practice Management

More patients on your plan, with less admin.

The plan lives in another login. Member prices are typed by hand, and someone gets one wrong at the desk. The model that works best for private dentistry has been bolted on to software that never wanted it.

In Joyful, membership is built in. Your plan runs on Joyful, each patient’s monthly Direct Debit is priced from the visits they agreed, and the book always knows who is a member. Joyful also helps you sell the plan, because we only earn when patients join it.

How it works

  1. 01

A fair price for every patient

The monthly price is worked out from each patient’s agreed visits.

Each patient’s plan price is worked out from the exam and hygiene visits they agreed. Change how often they come and the price changes with it. Planning, the patient app and the desk all use the same sum, and prices round up to a tidy figure, so £23.67 becomes £23.75.

    • Two patients on different intervals pay different, fair amounts.
    • Member prices are worked out for you.
    • Prices always end in 0p, 25p, 50p, 75p or 95p.

  2. 02

    More patients join your plan

Every treatment plan and reminder gives patients a reason to join.

We don’t earn unless your patients join your plan, so Joyful puts the plan in front of them at the right moments. Every treatment plan shows the member price next to the standard price. Reminders include a link to join. New patients can start on a simple starter plan until their routine is set.

    • The member saving shows on every line of every treatment plan.
    • Reminders invite non-members to join with one tap.
    • Starter plans give new patients a simple flat price to begin with.

Patients sign up from the sofa

Terms first, then Direct Debit through Stripe.

Patients read the terms and set up their Direct Debit with Stripe, so they never type bank details into Joyful. If they stop halfway, they get up to three reminders, three days apart, before the sign-up lapses. You can always offer it again.

    • Bank details go to Stripe, never to Joyful.
    • The 14 day cooling off period ends early if the patient uses a plan benefit.
    • Patients need to cancel about five days before their next payment.
  4. 04

Members are recognised at every visit

Member prices show everywhere, and plan money stays separate.

Included visits count against the plan year. Plan payments and treatment payments are kept apart, so a monthly payment is never mistaken for money towards a crown, and your books stay accurate.

    • Included visits are tracked, so no patient pays twice.
    • Plan money and treatment money sit in separate pots.

The small print

  • Children on a family plan don’t have their own Direct Debit. Look at the payer.
  • If the monthly amount changes, payments pause until ten working days’ notice has gone out.

How Joyful earns from this

Joyful charges £0 for the software. We earn a monthly fee for each patient on your plan. If your plan has no members, we earn nothing. See how we earn.
