Practice Management
You always know where the crown is.
Lab work usually lives in a book by the till. Someone phones to chase the case, and the invoice that turns up rarely matches what you expected.
In Joyful, your preferred lab’s price list prices the work, reception tracks the case, and the invoice goes straight into the books. Dentist pay adjusts to the real figure.

How it works
01
Know the lab cost before you plan
Joyful prices the work from your lab’s own list.
When the clinician plans a crown or a denture, Joyful prices it from your preferred lab’s list and works out when it should be back. Postage is counted once per delivery, not per item.
- Lab costs and turnaround times come from the lab’s own list.
- A £0 price counts as no price, so Joyful never plans against a missing figure.
02
Answer “where’s my crown?” in seconds
Reception tracks every case as sent, returned and tracked.
Reception sees every case marked as sent or returned, with a tracking number if you have one. You can change labs until the case ships. When work comes back without an invoice, it sits on its own list so nothing is forgotten.
- Reception can tell a patient where their crown is without phoning the lab.
- Work that’s back without an invoice stays on a list until the bill arrives.

Dentist pay reflects the real lab cost
The real invoice replaces the estimate in the books.
When the invoice arrives, reception enters the invoice number, amount and date. The estimate comes out of the books, the real figure goes in, and the dentist’s share adjusts on the next pay day.
The small print
- If no lab is set up for a piece of work, you can still plan it. You just won’t see a lab cost or a return date.
- If a case has already shipped, withdrawing the treatment doesn’t cancel the lab order. You still owe the lab.
