On Your Patient’s Phones
Patients reach you without a password.
Patient portals mean another login, another app to download, and still a phone call with hold music to move a Tuesday appointment. Patients avoid them because they were built for the practice.
In Joyful, patients get a link by text, enter their date of birth and they’re in. They can book, pay, fill in their medical history and read their plan, with no password to forget or reset.

Hi Cathy
What's your date of birth? We just need to check it's you.

How it works
01
Fewer calls to the front desk
Patients book, pay and fill in forms from a texted link.
From a link you send, patients book, register themselves and their children, fill in their medical history, read their treatment plan, pay their balance, join your membership plan, confirm they’re coming and accept waitlist offers. A session lasts about a day. Next time, they get a new link.
- There is no password. Patients use a texted link and their date of birth.
- Three wrong tries close the link, and you send a new one.
- The public booking page never reveals whether it found someone.

Patient records stay in safe hands
Access is tied to the mobile number your practice holds.
Everything links to the mobile number you hold for the patient. A new number can’t claim an account on its own. If a patient changes phone, you update their number and send a new link. Times always show on the practice clock, even if they’re abroad.
- A new phone can’t quietly take over an account.
- Patients on holiday still see appointment times in UK time.

Parents manage the whole family in one place
One login and one Direct Debit cover the household.
Parents add their children from the same link and switch between them to book, fill in forms or manage the plan. Your plan can sit on one payer for the whole family.
- Parents manage their children’s care without a separate account.
- One Direct Debit covers the household. Children don’t have their own.
The small print
- Each link does one job. A booking link doesn’t open the medical history, so send the right one.
- If a patient stops halfway through registering, they return to where they left off.
